Frequently Asked Questions

What about children?
Children are more than welcome. The location of each cabin provides an excellent opportunity for kids to commune with nature.

Are you sensitive to Covid considerations?
Certainly! While we love our guests, we are prepared to have minimal contact. If you are here for the first time, we may need to show you to your secluded cabin. We so look forward to the time when such restrictions are not needed.

Are the accommodations private?
The cottages and cabins are quite private and secluded well away from each other in the trees. We specialize in privacy.

Check-in and Check-out:
CHECK-IN is normally 3:00pm to 8:30pm. If your anticipated arrival is substantially later, please notify us at 573-759-6081.
CHECK-OUT time is 11:3 am. We want to accommodate your schedule if we can, so please ask about different about check-in/check-out times.

Are you difficult to find?
Not at all! You will receive driving directions in your reservation confirmation. Note that GPS may confuse you as you get near, routing you onto smaller country roads. If this is your first visit, please follow our directions. This is our location on Google maps.

May we bring our pet (dog or cat)?
Yes, in cottages and cabins we allow two pets only, with some simple restrictions:

  1. Pets must be well mannered and stay off beds and furniture.
  2. They should be treated for fleas.
  3. Dogs can't be left alone indoors (unless crated). We have resident pets on the farm.
  4. There is a $25 one-time charge for one or two pets.

May I bring my horse(s)?
Yes, horse pens are available.

What about smoking?
Outside and on decks and porches only.

Are canoes available? Bikes?
Yes, canoes and a jon boat await you at the river. Bring your own bikes.

Can we fish, swim, explore?
Sure, the Gasconade River is a noted small mouth bass stream. Bring your fishing gear and swimming trunks. Cliffy Creek Natural Area is our neighbor, offering an excellent hike to the natural bridge. The creek offers some great splashing for kids. We will direct you.

What about outside fires & BBQ?
There are fire pits at each cottage or cabin. (Firewood is provided and there is a cooking grate.) BBQ kettles are also found there, but you should bring your own charcoal.

What about meals?
Cottage/cabins have kitchens and simple self-catered breakfast food is provided. Bring other groceries or discover nearby eateries.

What should I bring?
Your personal recreational gear, a camera, a good book, or select from our library. In the warmer months, don't forget a repellant containing DEET for hikes in the woods. Everything else is provided!

Reservations/Cancelations:

  • Cancellations occurring more than 14 days prior to arrival will be charged only a $25 administrative fee.
  • Cancellations occurring 14 or fewer days prior to arrival will be charged the total amount of the reservation.
  • This fee is secured with the credit card information on file.
  • IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL you must call 573-759-6081. We must acknowledge the cancellation. Email cancellations are not acceptable unless you receive a reply from us.

Driving Directions
Locate us just south of the the center of Missouri, accessible north from I-44 and south from I-70.
WARNING: GPS routing on country roads can be confusing. It is best to follow these directions on your first visit. GPS: 38.041473,-91.940705

  1. On Hwy 63, at a point 2 miles south of the town of Vienna, turn onto hwy 28 toward Dixon. (Sign says, "Dixon/Ft. Leonard Wood")
  2. Follow hwy 28 for (11) miles to a left turn on Route E.
  3. Follow Rt. E for (7) miles to ":Pavement Ends" sign and turn right on County Road 511 (gravel)
  4. Follow County Road 511 for (0.8) miles to our yellow mailbox and sign. Turn left and follow our small signs. IT'S EASY!
